ICMC Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Heffelman has more than 40 years of experience as an investment analyst, financial advisor and portfolio manager. Since founding ICMC in 1974, he has provided financial advisory and investment management services to clients. As CIO he leads the ICMC Investment Committee in setting portfolio strategy, asset allocations and the analysis and selection of investment opportunities.
His extensive experience and broad-based background allow him to offer additional services including business acquisition or divestiture counsel and the like, not commonly available at many wealth management firms.
Mr. Heffelman also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Heffelman has a B.S. in engineering from the University of Arizona. Prior to forming ICMC, he was a securities analyst for Glore, Forgan and Staats in Los Angeles and Rauscher Pierce Securities in Dallas.
Vice President, Chief Operating, Financial and Compliance Officer
As COO and CFO, Ms. Adams is in charge of operations and handles the formation, financial accounting and tax reporting for ICMC’s alternative investment partnerships. In addition, she is involved in the due diligence of third party managers and supervises the preparation of financial plans, which include a client’s balance sheet, cash flow statements, income tax liability, retirement needs, insurance analysis, estate, and children’s education. Ms. Adams also administers ICMC’s compliance program.
Ms. Adams has more than 35 years of experience in corporate and partnership financial and tax accounting and cash management. Her experience includes structuring, analyzing and managing both public and private partnerships. She joined ICMC in January of 1990, became a shareholder in 1995 and a member of the Board of Directors in 2005.
Director of Strategic Growth and Development
Clayton Wertz serves as ICMC’s director of strategic growth and development. In addition to serving ICMC clients, Clayton helps lead the company’s business development efforts, and actively pursues avenues of growth through client and professional referrals, as well as strategic business relationships.
With a strong background in economics, Clayton is also a member of the ICMC Investment Committee. His rare combination of financial and marketing expertise not only adds value to our company and our clients, it also benefits portfolio managers, key business partners and other important ICMC stakeholders.
For nearly two decades, Clayton has been a key player in the industry, and has built a strong reputation throughout North Texas for his commitment to helping clients achieve their financial goals. His prior experience includes positions at several top companies, such as Morgan Stanley, Southwest Securities, and Merrill Lynch. At Merrill Lynch, he earned the company’s internal designation of Certified Financial Manager.
Clayton is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He has also mastered the craft of point and figure technical analysis, having earned two certifications from the Dorsey Wright Institute.
Assistant Portfolio Manager and Investment Analyst
As assistant portfolio manager and investment analyst at ICMC, Leonardo Copanski manages the firm’s portfolio strategies and he provides ICMC’s Investment Committee with a more technical approach to its current asset allocation model.
Leo is also responsible for trading, researching and analyzing potential investments, and he proactively monitors client portfolios and cash balances.
Before ICMC, he began his financial career as an equity trader for a boutique trading firm in New York City. Wanting to expand his exposure into the client-facing side of the business, Leo transitioned to Morgan Stanley as a Wealth Management Associate in Dallas.
He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2013, where he was a thrower on the track team and an active member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
Arun Ratnam, MBA
Arun Ratnam is a consultant to ICMC and has had a continuous association with the firm since 1994. He performs partnership administration including valuations. Mr. Ratnam also assists with portfolio reporting, personnel training and in the preparation of financial planning reports.
Mr. Ratnam has been actively trading and managing investment accounts since 1995. His past consulting projects include international commodity trades, hedge fund startups, money management firm operations and insurance and mutual fund sales. Prior to working with ICMC, he performed portfolio accounting for another Dallas-based investment management firm. Additionally, Mr. Ratnam previously owned and operated his own international marketing firm.
Mr. Ratnam has an MBA in finance and an MA in international management from the University of Texas at Dallas and a B.S. in engineering in metallurgy and materials science from the Royal School of Mines, University of London, U.K.
Administrative and Planning Support Assistant
Jordan Goforth is administrative and planning support assistant at ICMC, and joined the company in August 2016. In her role, she helps senior management establish new client accounts and manage existing client relationships. She also supports the firm’s social media marketing and financial planning activities.
Before Jordan joined ICMC, she was a marketing intern for Vyve Broadband where she designed a successful marketing campaign that helped the company attract and retain Millennial customers.
She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Jordan was also a full-time student athlete on the women’s basketball team, where she earned All-American honors. This experience helped her grow vital teamwork and leadership skills which will carry forward into her success at ICMC.
Francesca Shepherd is Executive Assistant at ICMC, and joined the firm in April 2016. She oversees the firm’s day-to- day administrative operations, while supporting marketing and client relations functions.
Before joining ICMC, Francesca worked at an architectural firm; was an event coordinator at the Dallas Arboretum; and was a legal assistant for a commercial real estate firm in Aspen, Colorado.
She attended The University of Mississippi before transferring to Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia where she earned a degree in Sociology. She also attended a semester in Florence, Italy for fashion school. Francesca enjoys time with her sweet dog Lucy, exercising on the Katy Trail, traveling to Colorado, New Mexico and Mexico, and spending time with her friends and family.
